ok, so I'm a little behind. The storm I posted about just before this one actually took our power out for 3 days and we didn't have power for Halloween. It was cold, but the kids loved it because school was cancelled due to lack of power. Also, all of our neighbors without kids brought their candy over to us because they knew we had kids. Samantha and Justin got on the news while they were out shoveling snow the day after the storm. It was crazy, because there really was a ton of snow especially for October. We ended up driving to a different neighborhood for trick or treating and it was really nice. We missed seeing our neighbors and had kind of a tricky time getting in our costumes in the dark, but halloween was a really fun night. That is until we had to come home to a freezing cold and dark house. I was afraid to use the fireplace because the night before when we had used it the house filled up with smoke and our carbon monoxide alarm kept going off.
The next day I took all our dirty laundry to the laundromat and vowed to myself that it was too cold and we would definately go stay with some friends that had offered if the power didn't come back on. Of course when I came back from the laundromat, the power was back on. Isn't that how life works? It was a very memorable Halloween.
Sorry, no pictures couldn't find the camera in the dark, but Kate was a chicken, Michelle was a cowperson (not cowgirl), Nathan was captian Rex, Samantha was an angel/devil, John was a zombie, Joseph was a werewolf, Justin was a young high schooler (letterman's jacket), and I was an old woman (cougar).
